Another run up…

Yesterday I took another run at Lookout Mountain. The photo shows the view from the back of my house. The red arrow points to the New York Monument in Point Park commemorating the soldiers from NY who fought in the battle of Chattanooga. That was the destination.

I took a more direct route going up Upper Gum Springs trail rather than winding around the mountain.

It was a 3 hour, 15 mile run that I did without fluids. I was more than a little sick afterwards.

What is really amazing is my ability to recover. The next morning I’m feeling great. That’s a huge change from two months ago when a hard effort would leave me spent the next day.

Nine miles including intervals is on the schedule for today.

I’m also going to start a lifting program today. I have a plan I can do at home that I feel really good about. We’ll see what it produces.
