I continue running four out of five days. On a good day I run 5k in 29 minutes. On a bad day it takes 32 minutes. Today I covered 4 miles in 42:10.

My new Garmin watch says I’m overtraining and need rest days. It’s correct but I really want to put in the miles.

I’ve started 10 minutes of body weight and dumbbell exercises in addition to the running. The toning of my legs and core from a month of running is remarkable. It’s inspired me to try to produce the same results with my upper body. I’m interested to see if I get similar results.

I’m trying to commit to sleeping from 8 to 4 every night. Getting up at 4 has been relatively easy. Making myself go to bed a 8 is harder. The Garmin is not happy.

Twenty-nine days until the Peachtree 10-k. If I had to do it today it would be a stretch. But I’ve gone from 0 to a 5k in 30 days. Going from 5 to 10k in 30 days seems a reasonable expectation.
