Time for a race (or three)…

Marathons are certainly in my future, but not the near future. I’m growing comfortable with daily 5,000 meter runs, but my four mile run yesterday left me a bit wobbly. While I put in the miles, I need some events on the calendar to keep me motivated and on schedule.

With that in mind, I signed up for the Atlanta Track Club Triple Peach Series. It consists of the Peachtree Road Race 10-K on July 4th, a 10-mile race on October 20th, and a half-marathon on Thanksgiving morning. I feel like that’s a very comfortable progression.

The biggest challenge will be stretching from 5K to 10K over the next 30 days. Once I’m comfortably running five or six miles a day, stretching to a half marathon in five months will be an easy step.

And if I run a half marathon in the fall, a spring 2025 marathon is the next step. Piece by piece, the plan comes together.
