Week 2 of the Tokyo marathon training block starts today. The only Something of Substance (SOS) in the plan this week is 12x400 at 1:45. I went ahead and did them today. I hit the pace on 10 and only did 11 but it was confidence boosting. The rest of the week consists of easy runs of five to eight miles.

Speaking of easy runs…

I also signed up for the Battlefield Marathon on Saturday. My plan is to run a steady 9 minute pace for the first 20 miles and then push to the extent possible for the last 6.2 to finish in under 4 hours. After running 13.1 in 1:48, I’m fairly confident that I can finish in under 4 hours without trashing my legs.

Should be fun.
