You gotta have goals…

Having signed up for the 10-K/10 miler/half-marathon combo I realized that it was time to pick a marathon. So I went ahead and ordered a bib for Paris 2025 on April 13th. I didn’t realize it but the other majors (New York, Berlin, Chicago, London, Tokyo) have tougher qualifying standards than Boston. Apparently a huge percentage of the bibs go to runners for charity.

I have little hope of qualifying for Boston in Paris. It’s my first old man marathon and the qualifying times are 15 minutes faster for under 60s. But it gives me a goal and it will be a good test run. I’m hoping to break 4 hours or come close. But that will take a huge amount of work.

The schedule looks like this.
